Alan Boot-Handford Vice President, Sales & Marketing
As international sales development manager in my previous profession with ‘Sign Corp’, I travelled the world selling corporate identity to prominent companies, such as British Airways/Rolls Royce. I relocated to the US after meeting my wife, Cindy, where I started a new life and business. Initially I studied to obtain my contractor’s license, building up a construction business, alongside running a limousine company, where I had the opportunity to meet a wide range of people from different walks of life and develop strong professional ties with many, some of whom managed funeral homes.
When Richard Bush, founder and CEO of Tributes approached me in 2001 to ask if I would be interested in running the US operation of his company, I was enthusiastic about the prospect. Richard and I go back 45 years, having met and worked together at his family’s sign-writing business in the UK.
Initially in the US we supplied only Tribute FramePods and Scattertubes – the latter having been invented by Richard and having proved extremely successful in the UK. However, as the company expanded, so did our product range – as it continues to do so now.
My current role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing involves overseeing the business strategy of the US branch of the company and ensuring exceptional customer service at all times. As is the company mission in the UK, with whom we maintain a close working relationship, we always go the extra mile to support and satisfy all our customers.
On a personal note, my large family, who I adore dearly, consists of five children and seven grandchildren. Three of my children are English – one of whom has moved to the States, where he runs a successful security business, whilst two remain living in the UK with their families. My youngest two live in the USA – both now at college – one studying medicine and the other business. Both the younger children have enjoyed playing their chosen sports – baseball and beach volleyball – and my wife, Cindy, and I have enjoyed watching and supporting them.
Last, but not least, my beautiful dog Sasha has brought me joy. She is my daily companion and goes everywhere with me, to the point where many say it is strange to see me without her.
